CLEVELAND, Ohio — Avalon Exchange, a popular consignment clothing store, moved one of its storefronts to a new location in Hingetown, part of Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood this past weekend.
The shop is currently located in Cleveland at 2925 Detroit Ave. It’s just down the same road it used to call home, at 15006 Detroit Ave., Lakewood.
Avalon shares a building with Three Dog Bakery, a dog biscuit bakery, and an upcoming restaurant called Alea’s Mediterranean Restaurant. The building is owned by local real estate developer group My Place Cleveland, which will also be adding an apartment for rent upstairs.
Avalon Exchange began in Pittsburgh, P.A. in 1988 and later expanded to have locations in Ohio at Cleveland Heights and Lakewood, and also locations at Savanna, G.A., Winter Park, F.L. and St. Louis, M.O. The shops all sell pre-owned designer clothing and accessories for deeply discounted prices, and buy lightly-used clothing at their stores.
